Random Thoughts on She-Hulk from Jacob Schoeneberger Part 9

Jacob Schoeneberger Part 9

Jake Schoeneberger Shares Thoughts on She-Hulk – October 14, 2022

The previous episode of She-Hulk had everything. The proverbial you-know-what really hit the fan, and now Intelligencia has Jen cornered. One thing’s for sure, Jacob Schoeneberger hopes she kicks some serious butt and gets her much-deserved retribution.

With that in mind, here are some random observations Jacob Schoeneberger has on the show.

All the Jake Schoeneberger Random Opinions about She-Hulk (Season 1, Episode 9)

*This will contain spoilers for anyone who hasn’t watched the show yet.*

The ninth and final episode of the season begins with maybe the awesomest Marvel moment ever. The homage to the opening credits of the show The Incredible Hulk is so beautifully accomplished it brings a tear to my eye. To say Jacob Schoeneberger loved that show is like saying chocolate and peanut butter are kind of good together. I mean, I loooooved that show. This homage was amazing.

But it seems Jen is seriously in a supermax prison, just like Blonsky was. Even though Jen was targeted, all anyone saw was an out-of-control Hulk. So the only way out of prison is to wear an inhibitor. This is some BS, right here. And she’s now been fired from GLK and H so she’s out of a job. And she’s had to sell her place and move back in with her parents. It just keeps piling on.

Nikki comes by to help Jen figure out who’s behind the website Intelligencia. But unfortunately the security on the site is airtight. Jacob Schoeneberger has an ugly feeling she’s going to find that this organization is more well-funded than most celebrity trolling sites.

She texts Bruce but the message is undeliverable. Her message to Blonsky is also undeliverable but she heads to see him anyway because he left her with an open invite.

Back at her office, Nikki uploads to Intelligencia an embarrassing vid of Jen goofy dancing in college. Her bait works and she’s answered by the admin of the site, HulkKing, inviting her to an Intelligencia event. Of course, HulkKing thinks she’s a guy so she calls in Pug for help.

Pug arrives at the party and finds that total tool Todd there. Nikki talks to Pug through an earpiece to tell him all the crappy things to say, and it works perfectly. They get Todd to admit that he created Intelligencia and he’s HulkKing. Jake Schoeneberger is very impressed by how good a team Nikki and Pug are. But unfortunately the call drops and Pug is now on his own at the party.

At Blonsky’s compound, Jen talks to Wrecker. She asks if Blonsky is around, and Wrecker says he’s at some private event in the lodge. Uh oh.

Sure enough, Todd introduces Abomination as the event’s guest speaker and in he walks. He’s giving a motivational speech when Jen walks in. She’s angry at Emil but then Nikki and Pug tell her they need to get out of there because Todd is HulkKing and the meeting is for Intelligencia.

Todd tells Jen that he hired Josh not just to date her and get the sex tape of her, but also to get her blood. He says he synthesized the blood to give himself Hulk powers. Oh man, Jacob Schoeneberger thinks it’s all about to go down now. Can Jen become She-Hulk in self-defense?

Todd injects himself with serum and becomes a kinda Hulk. Then Titania busts in through the wall. Todd goes after Jen, but Blonsky transforms to Abomination and defends her. Then Bruce busts in and sees Abomination with Jen and assumes he’s attacking her. Ok, this is getting a bit too trippy for old Jake Schoeneberger here. I’m confused.

Apparently I’m not the only one because Jen breaks the 4th wall and asks what the heck is going on. Then we see the viewer navigating away from the show on Disney+ so Jen transforms to She-Hulk and comes through the menu in order to talk to her own writers. Ok, this is hilarious, I love when she breaks the 4th wall. This is getting seriously meta right here.

Her writers tell her all the twists are what Kevin wanted in the finale, so Jen says she wants to talk to Kevin. They laugh at her, but she storms up to Kevin’s office. They call security on her but c’mon, she just Hulk smashes them.

When she arrives in Kevin’s office, she finds an AI robot named K.E.V.I.N. (Knowledge Enhanced Visual Interconnectivity Nexus). This whole concept is so damn hilarious and spot on that it has Jacob Schoeneberger just shaking his head and smiling. Jen then lays out a really eloquent argument that while MCU works are consistently entertaining, it could be said that they all have similar endings. She then proposes her finale be something different. KEVIN agrees and we get a few nice little Daredevil and X-Men jokes thrown in to make the audience happy.

When we return to the plot, Todd is being taken away by the police and Daredevil swoops in to save the day. But Jen just tells Todd she’ll see him in court, and she tells DD he’s a little late but she’s happy to see him anyway. Jake Schoeneberger is happy to see DD too, we all are, Jen.

Jen and Matt head to a family picnic. After some good-natured jokes about Matt’s job and he and Jen being together, Bruce shows up out of nowhere and introduces his son, Skaar. Whoa, hold up, did not see that coming.

The episode ends with Jen telling a reporter that she’s making it her personal and professional goal to hold people like Todd accountable for their actions. But the reporter can’t help but ask her what designer she’s wearing to court, and I really can’t think of a better way to end the season than that joke.

But of course, Wongers had to show up to break Blonsky out of jail in the post-credits scene. No Madisynn with him…? Disappointed!

The Jake Schoeneberger Final Thought on She-Hulk

This show was an absolute joy. The comedic writing popped all the way through, they consistently subverted expectations, and they gave it a flavor and personality all its own. It’s like they went into this asking what hasn’t the MCU done yet, and they found a way to deliver something fresh and inspired. Jacob Schoeneberger wholeheartedly applauds this entire series and I pray we get another season of it. But I’d also love to see She-Hulk join the Avengers and take on some fun action too. I think she belongs as a pivotal member of the MCU, not just as levity and a 4th-wall breaker. She’s earned that. The show took an unflinching look at the misogyny women face every day and it came through as a smashing success. Show She-Hulk more and continued love throughout the MCU.
